Education and Development

Results achieved and learning agility are the criteria used to evaluate a person’s skills in order to assign increasing responsibilities to them, beyond their initial starting positions. Here at Sawyer, we make considerable investments in our talented staff. Managers and the HR team constantly develop learning and professional training programs consistent with corporate characteristics and practices. We favor on-the-job learning by means of challenging assignments to guarantee continuous advancement.

For Sawyer, the key characteristics of talented employees are their capacity to learn quickly, almost instinctively, and to achieve results at the same time. These talented employees are curious, capable of working in any environment, and also appreciate learning from their surroundings including their co-workers, residents, and the communities they work in. Sawyer’s philosophy is that people with high potential naturally thrive in an environment where they can express their talent to its full potential. This approach attributes central importance to learning - a capability that ranges freely across specific job-related contexts, and wider relational and communicational situations.

Optimism, resilience, intuition, and an aptitude for handling change are the characteristics that Sawyers managers have in mind when they identify special talents in their team for new opportunities. Day to day sharing of work, successes, and problems provides vitally important opportunities to identify and develop talent within a team. Supported by an ongoing talent assessment process, managers at all levels at Sawyer can scout for key position potential and provide the necessary resources for our talent to succeed and grow within the organization.
