David M. Rosenberg, President & Chief Executive Officer
David M. Rosenberg is the founder of Sawyer Realty Holdings LLC and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rosenberg has over 30 years of real estate experience and is responsible for the company’s global strategic initiatives, including real estate, acquisitions, finance, and debt and equity capital formation activities, as well as steering the company’s overall long-term direction since 1993. He oversaw the company’s growth along the Eastern Seaboard, which included the acquisition and management of 100 communities with over 40,000 apartments and the disposition of approximately $3 billion dollars of assets.
Mr. Rosenberg holds a BS degree from Boston University and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at Cornell Hotel School, along with being actively involved in numerous other philanthropic organizations.
Gary J. Gianino, Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Gary Gianino joined Sawyer as Chief Financial Officer in 2001 and took on the Chief Operating Officer position in June 2008. Mr. Gianino is responsible for the supervision, organization, and development of Sawyer Property Management Companies’ various interdisciplinary departments, as well as Sawyer Realty Holdings’ financial and organizational functions. Mr. Gianino brings over 30 years of real estate experience to his dual roles at Sawyer. Mr. Gianino’s background includes experience in the areas of asset management, property management operations, acquisition/disposition of real estate, accounting, finance, and operational management. Prior to joining Sawyer, Mr. Gianino was Chief Financial Officer of Carpenter and Company, Inc., a Boston-based real estate development and management firm, where he was responsible for budgetary and financial reporting for a diverse 1.8 million square-foot portfolio, as well as investor and lender relations. Mr. Gianino is or has been a member of the Apartment and Office Building Association (AOBA), National Apartment Association (NAA), Maryland Multi-Family Housing Association (MMHA), and Property Management Association of Maryland (PMA).
Mr. Gianino started his professional career in public accounting, where he spent seven years while earning his CPA in 1982. He is an honors graduate of Bentley University. Mr. Gianino is involved in his community and has served as a Selectman in Burlington, MA, and volunteers with various civic organizations.
David Grossman, Director of Finance
David Grossman joined Sawyer Realty Holdings LLC in 1999, bringing 25 of real estate experience in finance and operations, as well as five years in public accounting with Touche Ross & Co. Since joining Sawyer, Mr. Grossman has been responsible for the analysis, structuring, and financing of over $3.3 billion in acquisitions, primarily in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Florida, and Massachusetts. He has been involved in over $2.5 billion of debt placement and continues to be the liaison to Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, HUD, and conduits, as well as working with preferred equity and mezzanine financing sources. Mr. Grossman is responsible for all investor services, providing regular correspondence to Sawyer’s limited partners. He plays an active role in ongoing asset management and financial review, working with the management and operations teams to ensure that investments are realizing their full potential. Mr. Grossman is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Deborah A. MacLeod, Director of Operations
Deborah MacLeod joined Sawyer Realty Holdings LLC in 1986. In her current position as Director of Operations, she is directly responsible for the supervision and oversight of Sawyer’s property and asset management teams, as well as assisting in the strategic development and implementation of asset specific business plans. She also plays a key role in Sawyer’s investment strategies as liaison to transaction parties, investors, and lenders by coordinating and assisting with securing new financing, repositioning, and corporate divestitures. With over 30 years in the property investment and management industry, she has extensive financing experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and conduit financing. In her tenure at Sawyer, she has coordinated the closing efforts of over $3.3 billion in real estate transactions.
Patrick Cain, Operations Manager
Patrick Cain is the Operations Manager at Sawyer Realty Holdings LLC and is responsible for the overview of day-to-day operations for Sawyer’s multifamily and commercial portfolio. He is also directly responsible for the supervision of Sawyer’s construction, capital projects, and FP&A. He began his career at Sawyer as a property manager in 2011. He has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and is currently pursuing his MBA at Boston University.
